First Steps
Yesterday, I got to witness something that is amazing. I saw my nephew walk for the first time. He went from standing up for a few seconds to being able to walk for almost a minute straight! It was such a blessing to see. Soon, Jordan will be walking around everywhere, and eventually walking and running around will be no problem for him. The transition from laying to crawling, to standing, to walking, etc. is just miraculous to me.
This got me thinking about the steps that we make in life- the “baby steps.” It reminded me of the first time that I committed myself to Christ and “walked with the Lord” for the first time. Since then, I’ve made steps to get to where I am today. And along the way, I had many places in my life where I was helped and where I made decisions to be a better “walker” with God.
Have you decided to walk with God yet? If you haven’t, what is stopping you? If you have, are you running yet? Do you need a crutch, or are you going on without hesitation and complete faith? I’m not sure if being a Christian is an all-or-none process, but I do know that using baby steps to get to a fulfilling place in your life is a great way to go. This week take some time to think about the steps you could make to be a better Christian. Could you give up something you’ve been doing wrong? Could you respect your parents more, respect others more? Every little step counts toward running with Christ. There’s no feeling in the world to replace it!
God’s Blessings,
Alex
